Hayden Village contracts out for snow and ice removal on the townhome streets.  The contract states that the streets will not be plowed unless there is 2 inches or more of snow on the streets.  Sand will be put down as needed for traction, and ice melt will be put down as needed.   The single family home streets are part of the VDOT (VA Dept of Transportation) snow removal and will be plowed/ treated per their guidelines.  For more information please go to http://www.virginiadot.org/about/resources/nova_snow/snow_fact_sheet.pdf.

Home owners / residents in the townhomes - please shovel the sidewalks in front of your homes, but please do NOT put down snow melt unless it is safe for concrete - rock salt will damage the concrete - not only on your steps, but also on the common area side walks.  This is an expense for all owners in the townhomes to then repair.   Home owners / residents in Hayden Village (townhomes and single family homes), although not required either, please consider shoveling the sidewalk in front of your homes!
